Shortcomings of existing systems
- This technology does not monitor the client’s Vital Signs and does not respond automatically when client’s Vital Signs are approaching and crossing life-threatening Red Lines.
- When a client activates the Medical Alarm pushbutton, he/she is receiving loud message that he/she has to wait first for Medical Alarm request to be processed, then wait for available local Medical Alarm operator to contact the client (delay “due to heavy work load”), finally available Alert operator requests the client to repeat his or name and address, and then Alarm Operator is asking the client to describe what kind of health problem the client is experiencing, and local Emergency team on the way to hospital trying to test client’s Vital Signs – this process is wasting precious time and creates additional workload for Medical Alarm operators.
- It does not have client’s personal Medical Conditions Tag and Medical Identification Alert QR code including prescriptions warnings.
- Useless if a client is asleep, or unconscious, or suffering a heart attack, diabetic coma, stroke, or for any other reasons is unable to speak or push Alarm pushbutton.
- No feedback that can be provided from medical office to intervene wirelessly to reset imbedded pacemaker or adjust medication doze, for example.
- No compatibility with Telemedicine applications, dynamic observation of Vital Signs deterioration and digital archiving.
PUMAS advantages
Presently available on the USA and World market, the simplified Mobile Medical Alert Wearable Wireless system for private clients was introduced on the USA market in 1970.
Automatic mode of operation
Instantly provides client’s current Vital Signs information to Medical Alert Operators and local Emergency Response teams, greatly decreasing the response time when the user cannot speak and respond to Alert operators for any reason.
Provides automatic response and Alert signal when the client’s Vital Signs approaching danger Red Lines.
24/7 monitoring
PUMAS device continuously (24/7/365) monitors the client’s vital signs and instantly automatically reacts to vital signs approaching user’s dangerous values, and PUMAS Basic Unit alerts local Medical, Police and Fire Emergency Response teams for instant response and help to the client.
Multiple vital signs / conditions monitored
- Heart Rhythm.
- Heart Variable rate
- Oxygen Saturation Rate/Pulse Oximetry
- ECG (Electogardiogram), AFIB and VFIB
- AFIB and VFIB
- Blood Pressure (indirect estimation by Wrist Bracelet sensor information)
- Blood Glucose/Sugar
- Red Line limits of Vital Signs
- Falling Alarm sensors
- Auscultation – heart & lungs
- Body temperature and additional blood
- Substance use and overdose, blood poisons, air quality. (For Police and Fire departments PUMAS modifications.)
Medical Tag / QR-Code
Electronic Tag and/or Medical Identification Alert QR code built into PUMAS devices contains information about user’s dangerous chronic conditions and allergies to instantly alert emergency response team and doctors about important medical conditions requiring immediate attention by paramedics and emergency physicians.
User’s baseline information includes patient’s personal PUMAS ID, address, phone, email, medications, blood type, patient’s doctor and hospital, patient’s individual vital signs dangerous limits, names/phones to contact in case of emergency.
Examples of Medical Information which can be stored in PUMAS tag (programmable in the medical office via PC or a smartphone):

Data transmission to the ER team on the way to the patient
PUMAS automatically instantly transmits the client’s baseline and current vital signs information to computer screens of Medical, Police and Fire Emergency teams for quickest possible intervention and assistance on the way to the hospital, greatly reducing delay and saving precious time for quickest possible medical intervention.
PUMAS Mobile Emergency Alert Devices combine GPS (Global Positioning Service) and cellular technology to continuously transmit the user’s personal RF beacon signals, providing 3-dimensional (3D) user’s location (with 9 feet accuracy).enabling Rapid Response Monitoring Center to be notified of exact user location and establish 2-way encrypted communication between the user and the local Rapid Response Centers, local hospitals, private medical centers, doctors, and local medical institutions in areas with poor network coverage
